A New Evolution

. . . In Partnering

. . . In the Horn

About Horn Partnership Network

We are a network of highly-qualified members, innovative partners, and experienced international advisors working together for progress and renaissance in the Horn

  • Expanding beyond borders
  • Responding to the changing landscape of progress
  • Relational innovation
  • Vigilance in regards to the security of members and partners

Our Members

Our members are professionals and specialists in their fields who come to serve in locally led partner institutions. They are selected for their character, ethics, and professionalism. Such members are sometimes difficult to find but when we find them they tend to be committed to long term integration into their institutions and the community. We come to facilitate our partners and their staff. We do not take jobs. We seek to make jobs and build capacity.

Our Partners

As a network we look to partner with progressive, charitable, and integrous leaders, and institutions that have a proven track record for taking initiative and being self- sufficient. We seek to come along side such leaders and creators not to provide projects or initiatives but to join their projects and initiatives and make them better. Our partners therefore must be proven leaders in the Horn, positive about partnership, and willing to take responsibility for our foreign members.

what drives us

Our Values

  • Integrity — We seek integrity and morality in every dimension of our lives, public and private
  • Humility — Promotion of others not our members or the network itself.
  • Generosity — We are not a funding organization but we are a  generous people.  Our members give their skills, share their daily  bread, and invest their very lives for the sake of continued progress in  the Horn.
  • Equality — We commit to never discriminate based on gender,  disability, nationality, clan/tribe, citizenship, faith, or  socioeconomic level.
  • Respect — We prioritize respect at all times toward culture, language, and faith including elected and religious authorities.
  • Relational innovation — Members that live in the community stay the longest and have the biggest impact.
  • Language and Culture — Long-term rewards require deep and mutual investment in language and culture
  • Security — Our members look to our partners to wisely navigate the unique security concerns of the modern Horn of Africa
  • Longevity and consistency — We carefully select members that will persevere and thrive.
  • Positivity and hope — Despite past heartache and tragedy, we choose to see progress and potential

Frequently Asked Questions

Please contact us if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Horn Partnership Network is a new network as of 2022 but many of our members have been working in the Horn for over a decade.  And some of our partner institutions have been serving the people of the Horn their  whole lives.  While this structure is new, the people and relationships  within the network are well-established.  We are here for the  long-term.  Contact us to learn more.

We consider members from all over the world as long as they have the  skills and credentials to provide significant value to the people of the  Horn and are service-oriented with their skills and professions.   Currently we have members from or with experience in North and South  America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.

While we are not a funding organization, we also do not wish to be a financial burden on our partner institutions.  For this reason our members are asked to secure their own funding sources through grants and  donors.  Funding sources and methods vary greatly across our members and the countries they represent.

Our members have found the Horn to be very safe and peaceful.  Like anywhere else in the world, there are security concerns at times.  We lean heavily on our partners to help us take appropriate precautions.  We follow the recommendations given to us by local authorities.  HPN members believe that integration into our institutions and neighborhoods is the best way to experience peace and safety in the Horn of Africa.

Horn Partnership Network is not a religious organization.  Wherever we work, we seek to respect the faith, customs, and culture of our partners and the communities around us.

No.  We support freedom and independence for all with an emphasis on loyalty to the institutions where we work.  We make a sincere effort to avoid politics.  We also distance ourselves from our home countries if and when they make policy statements regarding the Horn, choosing instead to align ourselves with our partner institutions.  We do not speak to the media except with permission from our local institutions.

We are always exploring new partnerships with organizations that share our values.  If you think your organization or institution would benefit  from joining our network and hosting our members, then please contact us!

HPN is an exclusive membership of elite professionals and specialists from around the world that share our values.  While local professionals are employed by our partners, the purpose of HPN is to bring members from abroad.  We do not facilitate membership of local professionals at this time but local professionals are encouraged to apply directly with our local partners.  Foreign professionals who are interested in serving the purpose of progress in the Horn of Africa with minimal compensation are encouraged to contact us.

We are low-profile by design.  Our agenda is to highlight and develop the work and public image of our partner institutions, not ourselves or the network itself.  Toward that end, even our website directs visitors to our partners and their work.  This serves two purposes.  First, it is an effort to avoid promoting ourselves and our individual members; and secondly, it helps us align with the safety and security priorities of our partners.  We take team to a whole new level.
